About the Artist
Born and raised in Montreal, and now residing in Newfoundland, Roselle, now a full-time artist, was a world class professional figure skater and choreographer. She has performed in, and choreographed numerous prestigious ice and stage productions alongside some of the greatest names in figure skating.
Having viewed skating & dance as the ART OF MOTION, Roselle has always seen the performer as the brush and the stage the canvas. It seemed only inevitable that her passion for skating would flow into her love of the visual arts as she’s been sketching and painting almost as long as she’s been skating. Within the last couple years, Roselle has started to expand on her unique style of painting, currently becoming more involved with marketing and selling her art, and putting together art show events.
'As artists, everything is basically a self-portraiture in some regard. We create from our hearts with truth, love, and purity - Intimately pulling others into our world, allowing them to glimpse the rawness of our very soul.
My goal as an artist is to share light, share love and to evoke feelings of inspiration.
Because of my profession as figure skater and dancer, I love to find ways to transfer the feelings and emotions in movement, to my canvas. I consider my style of motion to be very fluid and feel my painting is an extension of this, with a unique swirling effect that I liken to not only the way my body moves in the space around me, but also to the patterns made on the ice, carved by a skate blade.
With use of vibrant colours and through the media of acrylic paints, I aim to transfer the swirling energy of my life experiences to the canvas and hopefully give others a visual tutorial of what it’s like to be me'.
